    Question: Where do you live?

    - North America
    - South America
    - Asia
    - Australia
    - Europe
    - Africa
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a simple poll... I was wondering were (based on this group) uni is
    the most popular.

    I'm thinking Europe.

  3. This poll is going to be heavily biased towards the English speaking
countries because this is an English speaking newsgroup. The Germans
have 'their own forum here' (http://tinyurl.com/1p63). The non-English
speaking countries are not going to fare very well.

  6. Japan has the largest unicycling population of any country by far.
Unicycling is taught in every elementary school. UNICON III in Tokoyo in
1987 was the largest unicycling event ever. I'm very much looking
forward to UNICON XII this summer, which I'm sure will shatter the
    UNICON III record.

I left that continent off. Having been there, I felt pretty sure that I
could leave that one off and not exclude too many uni riders.

  9. I refuse to vote if you only have Australia in there- there are plenty
of kiwis on this forum 😠 Nah, no way, nada...what are you
    thinking?

How did you come up with this grouping arrangement? Some sort of
semi-regional thing with the odd country thrown in?

  11. I'm just pointing out that you're missing out whole regions as we've
already seen from this grouping system- middle of the Pacific and NZ and
don't count. Unless you're meaning Asia/Pacific region or
    Australasia/Oceania.

  13. Ok then 🙄

But hands up all the kiwis who are going to vote Australia as their
region? :p Whatever your definition- it will skew the results. And
that's all I have to say about that.

No way, not me! New Zealand has nothing to do with Australia! If it was
Australasia/Oceania that would be a different story, but it looks like
we are left out of this poll unless someone edits it.

  15. I've been taught and always thought that Australia was the name of a
continent that included most of the surrounding islands, including New
Zealand. In any case, after searching the web, I saw that it's also
referred to as Oceania, which is probably now the "politically correct"
name for the continent. I have modified the poll to have it named
"Australia/Oceania". As far as the middle of the pacific, which in the
case here is the group of islands called Hawaii, please select the North
America option as that group of islands is a state of the United States,
which is in the continent of North America. For those penguin
unicyclists out there I have added Antartica as an option.

Thanks Gilby, now I feel more comfortable about placing a vote in the
poll. I can't imagine there would be too many Antarctic unicyclists, it
will be interesting to see if this poll flushes any of them out.

    *is·land
A land mass, especially one smaller than a continent, entirely
    surrounded by water.

Note: The continents are now usually regarded as six in number: North
America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. But other
large bodies of land are also reffered to as continents; as, the
Antarctic continent; the continent of Greenland. Europe, Asia, and
Africa are often grouped together as the Eastern Continent, and North
and South America as the Western Continent.*

The definition of an island seems to exclude continents. New Zealand is
made up of islands. We are not the same as Australia which is a
    continent!

That was not my definition, that was somebody elses definition. And I'll
point out a few things for the more ignorant people in this world:

    Australia is an island.
    Australia is a country.
    The continent is called Australasia/Oceania.
New Zealand is part of the continent Australasio/Oceania.
