Yeah, do it! As long as the water's deep you're probably not gonna get
hurt. I was surprised to read so many people are against this kind of
thing. That stunt that Karl pulled off in U2 was hilarious and
impressive.

no problem! the waters quite shallow actually, its at some diving boards
into the sea... im going off at low tide to get the extra ten feet...
the landing is maybe 8 foot of water... ive dived it though, so its
safe...
id just like to point out now, once and for all, that i dont do these
things because of a lack of skill... i do them because i enjoy them... i
can probably hold it with the best of you on the trials front, but i
dont like trials, its far from exhilirating...
im trying to develop my unicycling as a street sport, and all the street
sports have gone through a long phase after there inception, of balls
out stupidity and big drops... plus its easy, and i enjoy it...

hey Ed, get off his back, this guy can do whatever the F**k he wants to
do, thats what unicycling is all about, the freedom to do what you like
and when you feel like it.
The jump will be kool, maybe not impressive or skillful but kool all the
same and thats what alot of Trials videos lack so it'll be a refreshing
change. Keep up the good work North, even if you are english 😉

Try to do a complete flip before you land in the water. Only then will I
accept this stunt as being cool.
OR, do a hopspin as you jump off. Then continue twirling the whole way
down.

If u want the trick to look better and u want it to be more ::Xtreme::
then cover the wheel in petrol and light it on fire... That's much more
::Xtreme:: then just jumping 40ft into water. Or, you could set up a
tight rope between two cliffs suspended 40ft over water and then see how
far you can get, that would be skillful and fun as well, and you could
light your wheel as well.... but the rubber might melt onto the rope,
but who cares, it would still be funny!!!

Are these the diving boards in Plymouth? I've seen someone jump a BMX
bike into the sea from one of those. Is there something in the drinking
water down there? 🙄

Ever run a 30'? A bad landing can break your neck, back or just plain
knock you out. Especially in the wrong boat. I agree that technical
rapids are usually more dangerous and I've seen my share of people
who've gotten their face cut up by rolling in just a III. But I
wouldn't discount the danger of a big drop... Whenever I do one over
about 8ft or so (rarely), I just about sh!t myself on the way
down...smiling all the way...

But this is the wrong forum for that huh??

? Is that an S-3 your paddling in your moniker ?

speaking of world records I was at the Guinness world records museum in
Las Vegas, this tiny little cheapo place with outdated old exhibits with
dust on them. But they did have the worlds tiniest unicycle on display.

I had thought of doing a world-record unispin! That's where you jump off
the uni and spin it around under you. So far the recrod is 720. You
should be able to manage a few thousand or so. Again, the hard part will
be landing it... 🙂

If the water is only 8' deep, maybe you *could* land it, on the bottom!
It would be really cool if you could arrange an underwater view of
that!

I think part of the controversy on this thread is because the topic is
about world records, and a drop into water wouldn't involve riding away.
That doesn't mean we wouldn't enjoy watching video of it.
