Just as I said, Tyler said Tugboats death made him withdraw. -------- Coming off of the emotional stress of losing Tugboat, the disappointment of abandoning the Tour is in perspective. I know there will be another Tour de France next year. And I'm already looking forward to it.
I'll be back with more thoughts about the Tour in the coming days. And I will also share some of my stories about my final days and experiences with Tugboat as well.

We don't seem to be reading the same thing. Explain to me please where Tyler says the death of his dog "made him withdraw"? He repeated at least twice on French TV that the "dog" issue had nothing to do with his abandoning. As a matter of fact, he said he tried to keep the whole thing private.

Are you trying to tell me that Tugboats passing, was no different than some roadkill on the side of the road? The back was the ruse, and you fell for it.

Yes, I'm telling you that "Tugboats passing was no different than some roadkill on the side of the road". He might just as well as ended up that way as having to be put to sleep. The "emotional stress" that Tyler mentions would have been the same. But it wouldn't have kept him from finishing the Tour. The point being, he could keep pedalling with a heavy heart but not with a strained back. He acknowledged as much when he talks about being able to keep some perspective, the difference BETWEEN the "emotional stress" and the disappointment of abandoning. Nowhere does he say the former forced him to stop. I heard him say twice on TV that his dog dying wasn't the reason. Good enough for this rube.
This is reminiscent of Pedro Delgado's withdrawl in 86 after learning about his mother's death. The emotional stress caused by the loss of a loved one (animal or human) can drain you physically as well as mentally and emotionally. I doubt if he got much sleep the nights before his withdrawl.

How can you compare someone losing their mother to the death of a dog? To be truly reminiscent, Pedro would have had to take his mother to the vet and put her down.

Thanks for your support and thanks for reading.
Like I said, you are truly an ass. Why do you feel the need to exploit Tyler's personal loss, when you know damn well (unless you are also a complete moron- very possible) that 90% of the article is about his stage 6 crash and the injuries sustained, and that this was the ONLY reason for abandoning. I'm sure losing his buddy was extremely hard on him, but we all know Tyler is tougher than that.
Dude, A loss is a loss. If you love your dog as Tyler obviously did and considered him as a child, it can be as hard as losing your mother. If your mother abused you and treated you like garbage, then maybe you wouldn't hurt as much over her loss. Just because Pedro's mother is "human" and Tyler's dog is an "animal" doesn't make it any more or less painful.

Nipplehead I would like to think that a professional getting paid, what? say 1mil a year could deal with the death of his dog now matter how big "a part of the family the dog was" I would hope his back injuries took him out and not the old dog Dave
