Timing of purchase/when do new models come out/best time to buy

I don't know if most bike manufacturers release their model years at the
same time like car manufacturers do, but it would make sense if they did
(don't want competitors getting the jump on them and all that).

local Giant dealers in Australia already take orders on 2005 stock right now
and the 2005 specs are on dealer web.... but not on Giant web site.... And
my local Trek guy tells me 2005 Trek road bikes are due around September,
give or take a few weeks.....

Giant has an all-new model, OCR-0 in 2005 range with a fair bit of carbon in
it.....

Most bikes with real changes will be introduced at Interbike in early
October. They will often be available in September to dealers.

Bikes with color changes only or minor parts swaps are starting to
trickle into dealers now.
