I love rooting for LA but I agree with your point. After the crash last year
when Tyler held the group up, they asked LA about that on OLN, and he
responded, "I don't think [Jan] did wait. . ." Who cares? Why not say, "Jan's
a tough fighter and a nobel sportsman. . ." and all the other correct things
that a, say, Michael Jordan, would say.

The same with the gift to Basso--why say it's a gift?

However, his frank personality is refreshing, perhaps not likable.

I think the same thing that makes him kind of a jerk is what also allows him to
be so tough mentally.

But, that is speculation from someone that has never had a conversation with
him--wtf do we really know?

Because the man asked a question and got an honest answer. Like when they ask
about #5, and Anquetil/Merckx/Hinault, and LA says "I don't consider myself to
be in the same league with those guys".

In the sense that since he was after GC time, he didn't slow down to play
sprinter games with Basso, knowing Basso would take the stage. Notice what

Nah. Enough people put up good examples of Lance working for teamates that it
was easy to realise that I was only seeing one side of things. When I screw up
and learn something new it's a good thing.

answer. He doesnt sound like someone who is comfortable in his own skin.

Funny - Michael Jordan was less than gracious his time with the
Wizards. Guess he doesn't handle the stress of losing well, but it was
