  1. Thinking about some casual touring/travel in the Southern parts of .nl early this summer. There
is a very nice route planner at planner.holland.comRouteTypeChoice.jsp - in
Dutch though, but definitely worth checking out. I also have some other maps, but not
    specifically for biking...

Which Dutch cycling map would you recommend? Seems there are multiple maps/guidebooks for sale in
    the online store.

    Hello Rista,

The best series of maps is "Fietsatlas Nederland", which was published last week(!). So it's
up-to-date, bu also complete and very accurate
(1:75.000). All (yes: *all*) bicycle routes and route networks are clearly indicated, and there are
a lot of them in the Netherlands. It's in Dutch, but because it's mostly maps this
shouldn't be a problem. And you can ask almost everybody for directions; a lot of people
speak English, so there you have an excuse to mingle with the locals. ;-) Price: 39.95
Euro, more details (in Dutch): basic.anwb.nlsh a605581.htm The book is
available in all ANWB stores, large bookstores and department stores.

And don't forget to visit the Netherlands page on my website:
    raph.nlnetherlands

Useful links on that page: hsa.lr.tudelft.nlnlbybike.htm
    visitholland.comcycling

    Have a great trip!

  3. We used "Cycling the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg", by Katherine and Jerry Widing. I would
recommend the northern route, Amsterdam to Texel. Afterwards, we headed back to Amsterdam, then down
to Utrecht where we took the train to Antwerp. Back on our bikes across Belgium to Brugge. -howard
