  1. I don’t quiet understand why Lance is eager to maintain silence in the peleton? If he is so against doping (as he claims) then why isn’t he eager to rid the sport of those who cheat?

  2. I think you misunderstand - or at least I see it differently.
The situation is, that LA himself is incriminated by French authorities,
press - and Italian doping convicted rider Simeoni, who has his own private
vendatta going against him. Nobody has presented any evidence, and I can
understand, if LA is tired of the accusations.

Simeoni has never accused Armstrong of using dope. To my knowledge, neither
has Bassons. I don't think Armstrong really wants the sport to be clean.

That's just it. Nobody should care what YOU think or what Simeoni thinks or
what anyone else thinks. All that should matter is what's proven and until
something is proven and there are REAL FACTS that Armstrong is guilty of
something, then EVERYONE SHOULD STOP ALL THE RUMOR AND INNUENDO!

Even now ... several years after the fact, Ferrari's statement about EPO and
OJ is MISQUOTED DAILY in the media.

Simeoni copped a plea and agreed to rat on some people to save his own ass
when he got caught doping. What's honorable in that? He's as much as said
that Armstrong is guilty by his association with Ferrari. I don't see it as
Armstrong trying to silence a whistle-blower. I see it as Armstrong trying
    to silence a liar.

Having said all that, I've said many times here and I'll say it again now
.... I think what Lance did with/to Simeoni was about the most boneheaded,
    stupid thing I've ever seen.

    Because he hates McCarthyism ?

I would suggest it is the honorable thing to do, however, it is the right thing. How do you know Simeoni is lying?! Armstrong seems to have a lot more evidence stacked against him as being a liar than Simeoni does. My evidence includes Lemond, O'Reilly, ex-postal Doctor.

I agree. Regardless of Simeoni's honor, lack thereof, or motives, the real
issue is whether he's telling the truth, and how provable that is.

Quantity of "evidence" does not equal quality of evidence.

I thought that would be obvious - he's profited enourmously from his
association with Chemical Architect Dokter Ferrari and the doping
culture within the sport - in a clean sport he would face more
    significant challenges.

  10. Maybe Lance is still [censored] at the Italians because of what Team
Cinzano did to Dave Stoller ;-)

I wish I knew. It is consistent with other personality flaws I have
observed, so don't try too hard to guess what it means. He is just not a
    very gracious winner.

  12. The message LA sent to Simeoni and the explanation he gave to the
press were probably very different from one another.

Lance may or may not be delivering a message from the rest of the
peloton, but the message is clear: Don't spill the beans on this
topic, and certainly not if you still wish to race.

Lance is now "il Bossimo" weather he intended it to be taken that way
    or not.

What evidence does Lemond or the ex Postal doctor have against Lance? What
evidence does O'Reilly have? She made several statements that have yet to be
    confirmed, but that's not evidence.

O'Reilly stated the Armstrong asked for make-up to cover-up IV marks. She was also sent off to obtain pills of some kind. She also states that Lance told her 'you know enough to destroy me'. Lemond also noted that Lance and he had a 'blow-out' of a conversation where Lance pretty much admitted to using EPO.

Why do you believe Lance over these allegations? Becuase you want to believe lance is clean? It would be great if he were but I feel we have a millar the 2nd here.

Hmmm. She says this and she says that. Well by God, it must be true
then. I'll bet you believe that Bush orchestrated the 9/11 attack
because Michael Moron says he did. I'll bet you believe that we never
set foot on the moon because FOX did a story on it.

Hmmm. That what he says. From everything I've gathered about Mr. Lemond
is that he is a little less than honorable and anything that comes out of
his mouth should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm almost ashamed to
have a Lemond seat post rack on the back of my bike. If it wasn't
covered with a High Sierra bag I"d probably take a magic marker and black
    out his name.

Why do you believe he's dirty? Based on the allegations of a few people
that have very good reasons to be saying the things they're saying, those
very good reasons being a lot of dollar signs.

You know, I don't get my news from the National Enquirer and maybe you
should stay away from news sources that are just as dubious.

I am a bit confused and admit that I have not read the recent book. I
understand that the authors have a lot of good reasons to write the book,
but what are the reasons of the people quoted in the book?

Oh, I don't know, jealousy maybe. The thought that Lance might be a better
racer than Lemond. The thought that Lance might be as good as he seems and
for some people, they just can't stomach that so they try to tear him down.
It makes them feel superior in their petty little lives. In other words,
how about "human nature" and all the ugliness that goes along with it? As
one of my favorite motivational speakers points out, "good will always come
under attack from evil. I don't know why that is, it just seems to be so."

Or at least maintain a healthy scepticism until there is some actual solid

And the jealousy you presume is there proves that they are liars? I don't
get it, they were there with Armstrong in various periods and just tell what
they saw and heard. But only because what they say seems incriminating to
Armstrong it is supposed that they are all lying. That doesn't make sense,
especially when it is claimed there is no evidence against him. There is, in
    the form of witnesses.

Many good cyclists have indeed come under attack by Armstrong, but I don't
