Hi all,
I'll be in Cambridge again in September for a college reunion. My
parents, aged 83 and 63, will be joining me for that leg of the trip.
They would like to do some visiting around East Anglia and Norfolk. My
father will not be interested in cycling, my stepmother perhaps if it's
very easy and safe. Mainly they want to stay in quaint pretty places
with lace curtains and geraniums and visit charming old-fashioned
villages with ancient churches and Druidic stones. This will be from the
22 to the 26th of September.
Can anyone suggest nice inns, venues, places where to get a great
Ploughman's lunch, gardens, parks and of course cyclable courses?
On a recent Cambridge visit a friend took me to Ashwell in his motorcar.
Ashwell was precisely the sort of place we'd be looking to find, and it
had a wonderful restaurant. Ely also comes to mind with its Old Fire
Engine House and its Cathedral. More of the same....?
Many thanks for your suggestions
Oh, and hoping to get a chance to meet Helen on that occasion. I should
be able to park the ancients for an afternoon or so if they are happy
with their setup.
