    I estimate I was heading for a 25:00 time, too. Just a week of decent
    tempo training has made a huge difference. Tribars help hugely too.

    I did 26:46 on a fixed 48 x 14 [1]. Another PB and should be enough for
    the handicap trophy - I don't think anyone else got near their PBs. I'm
    sure I could have gone marginally faster but I missed my original start
    time due to a mechanical problem and went off last; meaning an extra
    half hour riding round using up glycogen and water.

    [1] yes, that is only 84rpm but that seems to be the preferred style for
    short TTs these days - I used 48 x 15 last week and was thrashing about
    on the downhill bits.
