Now that's true but only because that is all colleges can afford and
what students and eventual programmers get used to along with C++ and OO
unless another language has crawled out of the language quagmire . Unix
was the first college created OS and was a bastardized bunch of
functions that in many case were nonsensica but did port to most
hardware. If you grew up in Unix and Linux (another Unix in my
opinion) and that's all you know then you are comfortable.
