104 BCD single chainring crank

Any triple you like with two of the rings taken off. Use a bash ring
on the outer position if you like.

Why does it have to be 104PCD?

I solved the problem by buying a triple for use with my
SRAM/Sachs S7, but I don't use any of the chainrings it came
with. I wanted 36T, so that meant another chainring, which I
mounted in the outer position. I also required shorter
chainwheel mounting bolts. And a different bottom bracket to
get the chainline perfect.

I wanted to use 104 PCD/BCD because it means that smaller
replacement chainrings will be available for a long time
(unlike the 3-bolt Shimano 600 chankset it replaces, which I
bought in about 1980).

110 is more common yes? Unless the 32 versus 33 bottom tooth is a deal
breaker for you. 110 BCD cranks are very widely and cheaply available.

Last I read, Rohloff does not warranty the hub with a
36T chain ring.

No problem. If I upgrade the SRAM hub to a Rohloff, 4-arm 104
PCD chainrings are readily available in a variety of sizes.
