I have a pedal problems that I bought less than 3 weeks ago. I have one set of older 105 pedals on my trek 1000 and have never had any problems. I bought a new bike Tarmac Comp with the new 105 pedals. I am having trouble clipping in to the new pedal on my left side. I will ride a 2 hour ride and in the beginning of the ride it will be fine, I can clip in, but sometime in to the ride i can not clip in. This has happened 3 times. 2 days ago, I brought it to the dealer and he had me sit on a trainer to clip in. Wouldnt you know it, it clipped in every time. I told him it only after I ride for for a bit and then it gives me trouble. He does not want to return it to warranty service since He cant find a problem with it. (I brought it back to the dealer one time previously since I had the same trouble and he lowered the clip tension and it worked for an hour in to the ride and then I had trouble with it again)
Ive switched my old 105 left pedal and put it on the tarmac and rode for 2 1/2 hours yesterday and never experience any problems.
Should the dealer have any trouble returning this to Shimano? He says he must prove it as being defective.
Yes, well the first time I brought it in after a ride, I couldnt not clip in so he lowered the tension. So he was there and witnessed it. I ride after work, the bike shop is closed by 6. I usually start riding maybe at the earliest at 4:30pm. So I have to be lucky and catch him before he closes.

You could take the "terrorist returner" approach... tape the pedal to a brick and heave it into the their little service area like a grenade, then grab a new set of pedals and run out of the store screaming. You've got to do it in camo, though, for effect.
Im not sure why I have to reduce the tension on the left side more, while the right side is very tight like I like it and works fine. Seems to me, if I have to loosen the tension to get it to work, then it's defective.

I agree with this statement. You are experienced with this specific product and know how it is supposed to work, you have a control in the right pedal and in the old left pedal, so you know that it is not the cleat or some inherent change with the newer version, and you have used the new cleats so it can't be blamed on your old cleat.
It is defective. If your dealer won't help you, contact Shimano directly.
