    OK for Millar though!

Personally I wish they'd ditch the procession on the Champs-Elysees and have something like the
    LeMond/Fignon finale of 1989.

That doesn't make it much clearer, the last time there was a Mountain TT Armstrong beat Ullrich. In
addition Armstrong has only been beaten once by Ullrich in an individual TT.

  14. Excuse my rookie-hood but is there not normally a TT on the penultimate day? Was that just this year?

I hate that site. It's so broken.

nah, not common at all, seemed to have made 'a bit of a comeback' recently- I view them as a bit
pointless but a fun spectacle, it tends to be the mountains that sort the big boys out- TTs in the
first 2 weeks can make life interesting, but make them over 50 miles so the gaps actually mean
something. The Team TT is a total waste of time but my favourite stage cos the riders look fantastic
when strung out in a line working hard. The crashes can be a bit more comical in Team TTs too!

3 days in the massif central? Going to La mongie?

I don't suppose the other day in the pyrenees and 2.5 days in the alps will be too flat either!

    recently-

I seem to remember them being there ever since I started watching when C4 started in the 80s, apart
from 89 (? the lemond/fignon one). So is 15 odd years recently?

    cheers, clive

There's usually a TT in the last week, but not usually on the last day.

The Giro and Vulta have both done this recently though ISTR.

It's very unusal to not have a TT in the first week though - anyone know the last time this was
done? Also they have limited the maximum time loss in the team TT - this gives a big helping had to
Iban Mayo and whatshisnametheotherbasque in Eustekia which always loses lots of time in the team TT.

    Interesting.....
