8. and 5. in previous two editions of the race. He has some other notable placings on his palmares. Looks like pretty complete rider for his physic.
The question is why he didn't try in some team where he could completely fulfill his potential.
I mean, the guy won Roubaix and was in bottom half of his team by hierarchy.

That is a fair point in relation to VanSummeran : he has ridden PR consistently.

My outside bets were Steegmans and Devolder[IMG]/img/vbsmilies/smilies/redface.gif[/IMG] (neither of them finished the race)

I'd say P-R is to tiring for Steegmans and too rough for Devolder.

Yeah it was a great race, but i think the riders should ride against the others and not all ride against Cancellara. it was nice to see that he finally had enough of quality riders taking the p**s and sitting on his wheel just like they did the week before in Flanders. Cancellara was still the strongest rider on the day in my opinion. but hats off the Van Summeron, i heard that he rode the last 5km with a flat rear tire, bravo!

In hindsight you're spot on as regards Devolder. He's more of a
Ronde man!
