Anyone have any info on who, if anyone makes 28-hole ceramic MTB rims?
I have a set of wheels with early White Ti axle hubs, in need of rebuild.
28 hole front; 32 hole rear.
The wheels were built super-light, with Mavic's lightest rims (forget the model - about 4-5 years ago), 15/17 radial laced front; 15/17 radial on the rear non-drive side, and straight 15 3-cross on the drive side - all with alloy nips.
I want to do a similar buildup, but using ceramic rims for riding in muck year-round.
I am also (obviously...) concerned with weight, but not fanatical.
The rims would need to be inherently stiff, but without excess fat.
I'm about 160#, and ride "light" - I tend to be fairly gentle on hardware.
The bike is a Cannondale Super-V with with XTR and much Ti / CNC, etc.
The brakes are Avid Ultimates (brakes & levers), and I would probably go with WTB red (abrasive) pads.
*Also - Anyone know where I can get a new Bontrager Ti rail saddle?
My all time favorite for light weight, comfort, and ease of moving around.
I'm short so the narrow sides and short Frt-Back length are needed.
**Or another similarly shaped saddle?
Thanks everyone for any info!
