When they change prices on an item, it first shows up on the product
description page- the category page with all the other chains can take a day
sometimes to update. Some stupid old school scripting program they run on
that side of the office.

I don't get it. I see the 14.99 price in both places, and she did
too, and refused to change it.

It's possible that the price was in the process of going up, not down,
when the OP came across the item. Thus, when Nashbar finished the
change, it was $14.99, not $9.99.

Bear in mind that Nashbar uses price to adjust inventory levels. When
they sold off enough of those chains @ $9.99, the price reverted to
$14.99.
