refilter. The SOB is still slithering through. He changes his handle. He uses his domain as the address, and can set up
as many ID proxies as he wants to. So when you filter on any given name,
he just changes it from Heartdoc@ to nospam1 or 2 or 3 or 4... And he
evades the killfiles.Quoted message said:

used to read sci.med.cardiology, but a "friend" of his began spamming
lots of groups, particularly the diet ones about his wacko 2-pound diet
which he now says isn't a diet.He has no favorites that he reads beyond SMC, so far as I know, but he
posts to many. He posts here because I do and he's trying to embarrass
me by acting like an ass. Funny logic.Pastorio

He seems to have a thing for diabetic groups too but I managed to killfile
him in my newsreader by blocking his domain not just a particular address.
Now I never see him no matter what version of his address he uses or which
group he pops up in."Bob (this one)" <[email hidden]> wrote in message

That is what I did recently. I subscribed to SMC, pull headers only
for that group and have my cross posting filter set to not download
anything that appears in SMC to any of the groups I read.I have another copy of Agent set up that downloads from another news
server and I don't filter. I did a search for Chung in that instance
and found 233 messages in the 1 month retention.I have not seen one in my regular groups.

but for almost everyone else in RFC it will handle the problem.Quoted message said:

got my filters so confused they were blocking "legit" posters - much to
my disgust - so I have given up on that.... <sigh>Cheers

Try Xnews its' a free newsreader...I haven't seen chung since 2000. try
killing crossposts greater than 1I never see chung's posts anymore.
All I had to do was set up a "from" killfile.
Anything "From" that contains the word "chung" gets killfiled.Chung will always use his name _somewhere_ in the sender address. :-)
I use MT newswatcher.

are crossposted to more than 2 newsgroups. I find this eliminates
almost all of the nutjobs, and very few legitmate posts are
crossposted to more than one other newsgroup.Bill Ranck
