I use my old ones for the helmet cam (I don't like putting gooey velcro
tape on my new one and for a night riding set up (so I don't have to
keep taking off the light bracket).

I"d toss it. The styrofoam breaks downs down upon prolonged exporsure to UV
etc.,

Leave it as a spare in your car/truck. So when you forget yours you won't
have to go through the...go home and get it or the ride without conundrum.

Never thought of that. I always seem to need a new one before the old
one wears out. Guess I get my money's worth. :-)

This is a good idea too, as I'm about to "upgrade"the oldest of my two
kids bikes (birthday coming up, she'll be 11). I probably will be turning
her ol' Schwinn over to those fine folks, or the Salvation Army. The local
FD also has a fine used bike program for impoverished kids. I'll check it
out...
