I'm riding along and this huge bug decides to
kamikaze right into my face. Actually it
resoundingly hit a front tooth. I was surprised &
aghast, and I sure didn't want to swallow or inhale
the damn thing. Somehow I managed to grasp the li'l
bugger between my lips like a cigarette, draw a quick
breath, and expel it like a very large watermelon
seed -- Phfffooooo! The whole process was very
expiditious. I felt a little sting in my upper lip but
it quickly subsided. I pulled over to check in my mirror
to see if there was a bee stinger embedded in there, but
there wasn't. It must've been a yellowjacket; I seem to
have a partial immunity to those things, and I guess it
didn't get a full chance to get me good. I can still feel
it, but it doesn't hurt.
Stoopid bugs.
Nevertheless, I hope my wee nemesis survived the
encounter as well as I did. I think it probably
did. And I'm glad it didn't fly up my cutoffs instead.
cheers,
Tom
