The problem is that racist trolls are clever, in a boneheaded-way. They spew their vitriole in the body of the messages with seemingly innocent subject lines and in add their vacuous replies to on-topic messages. But setting-up a domain killfile for gmail takes care of all their [censored].
I killfiled the gmail domain, life is certainly more pleasant without all that spam and other assorted [censored]. Unfortunately, I see that I am missing too many people I don't want to miss, so I deleted the rule.

Yeah, but keyword blocking can lead to some extremely big lists - just look at the varieties of 'viagra': v1agra, vaigra, viaqra, veagra, v_agra, vi_agra, etc...

It isn't gmail that's the problem, it's posts coming from Google Groups, whose users may or may not use [email hidden] as their addy. So, how does one killfile all posts from Google Groups, and leave those posting with a gmail address through Outlook Express or another real newsreader?
