Access to Level 2 catchment

That's what happens when State Forest gets turned into National Park.
Pretty soon the whole country will be locked up. We won't be allowed to
go in there, just look from the edges. Don't get me started on the
follies of green politics!

you'll probably find that it is the horsey people and the 4 wheel
drive people having a big hissy fit about those bloody bikies and
hikers that got the door shut rather than the green green people.

I think I would far rather have a green perspective than allowing the
4WD, horses and the foresters back into some of the areas just so they
can trash the joint again. At least green politics is trying to
maintain what is left rather than flattening the lot.

People you are looking at this issue the wrong way. It will cost yo
$11,000 'IF' you get caught. I used to ride an unregistered motorbike u
in the forrest with my friends. A ranger tried to wave us down one day

Several people did, but I don't think Sydney water wanted to hear.
There was an announcement due (which probably would have been
anti-bike anyway) The giardia/crypto scare killed that and gave them a
great excuse to be even more Nazi.

SW got a consultant do do an analysis of increasing access vs cost vs
risks, etc But it seemed to me to be deliberately set up to get the
result they wanted. There were only 3 options to choose from and 2
were so ludicrous that they had to choose the one they wanted. This
was basically keep it as it is but increase policing to improve
conformance with the current rules which have been around for some
time, just your chance of getting caught was lower,a was your chance
of anything actually happening to you afterwards. Keeping things just
the same wasn't an option.

It was of course a given that it had to be kept tightly controlled
despite the fact that you can ride a bike around Googong Dam (ACT
water supply) and even go fishing there. I believe in VIC you can go
sailing on Melbourne's water supply. Looks more like a power thing
than a real need to keep people out to protect our water supply.

I don't think it's a matter of a lack of enthusiasm Kenneth. The hors
has bolted on this one. We have all crashed our bikes at some stage an
subsequently don't feel like bashing our heads against a brick wall
