Boyd...I guess you ride a huffy then since it doesn't matter, or the bike so posted by that funny
guy Tom S. That was funny.

Did I say equipment doesn't matter? Sure, you need a good quality *racing* bike that isn't going to
give you a mechanical failure in the middle of a race. I don't recall you mentioning any mechanical
failures during your DNFs. Short of mechanical failure, blaming your equipment for your short-
    comings is just an excuse.

Mental exercise: Take the guy who won either of the races where you DNF. Do you honestly believe
that he would have DNF'd, and you would have won, had you traded bikes before the start?

I really hope you are just joking or that this is a troll. If it is, you got me.

    Well lets see...

    - It was my first night race *ever*.
    - It was my first race of the season.
    - It was *very* poorly lit course and almost pitch black in some sections (save for some p33ps
holding flashlights) - The course had 8 sketchy 90 degree corners within a 1k downtown course. -
It was my first race of the season. - I'm a cat. 3 racing in the pro/1/2/3 field.
    - Oh yeah, team 7-Up was there.

All in all, I feel pretty good about it. I got a chance to race against some *very* fast
compitition. Now I know where I stand and what areas I need to improve on.

First thanks for taking the time to post. One thing Kurgan I said BMI of 25 and that is not fat,
but thanks. I only look fat cause I am hunched over, and my belly barely hinder my pedaling when I
am in the drops, but I am not fat. I totally agree with the skin suit thing. I always wear a skin
suit, Yes even on training rides. My old football coach always told me. You play how you practice.
In my case I play in the skin suit. Next thanks for the advice on the Seven, but all Ti, no
carbon??? I am not sure this is the best advice. I looked at the web-site and the carbon bike cost
a lot more than the all Ti, so I guess it must be much better. I think you need to brush up on the
latest bike trends unless you have some inside track, which I would love to hear, or see a side by
side analysis. Until then I might stick with Colnago, if I can get it custom made.

My apologies, Mr. Van Diesel. I should have mentioned the custom titanium/carbon Seven model, the
Odonata. Carbon seat tube and seatstays absorb all road vibration while titanium tubes in the rest
of the bike ensure durability and precise tailoring of the frame geometry to your particular
anatomy. A centimeter or 2 differential from the optimal frame geometry may mean a loss of 10 or 20
watts from your maximum potential and that could be the difference between the Eternal Glory of a
Masters Stars'n'Stripes jersey or the dismal failure of not coming home with one of the 1500+
    Masters Medals awarded annually.

By all means though, look into the custom Colnago. If you're a good customer you may get lucky and
have Ernesto build one for you personally. I have heard stories of him doing so for promising
    Masters riders.

Shoot, if you win the Stars'n'Stripes jersey, he may even give you a free frame with Campy Record 10
speed thrown in. Ernesto wouldn't want you to be missing that 1 gear which could be the difference
between his product crossing the line first or finishing last, and he is intimately familiar with
the Tremendous Exposure Generated by riders who wear one of the hundres of Stars'n'Stripes jersies
awarded annually. It's better than having an ad in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Issue or
having a commercial on CNN the day Osama bin Laden gets nabbed.

Lastly Bill I appreciate knowing you are rooting for me to get the stars and stripes, and I will
try that much harder. FYI while I don't wear a star and strips jersey today I do have districts
champ stripes on my sleeve from when I won the 11-13 junior category back in 1982. You earn those
for life you know. Like the world champs strips on many of the top master jerseys I see while out
training. Oh the dream..Just like Mario..

I am dreaming with you Mr. Van Diesel!

  4. Boyd Speerschneider <[email hidden]> wrote in message . Wrote these silly things... I
didn't get dropped, but I was about to get lapped by the leaders after ~30min into a 45min crit.
But, what it really comes down to is this: I just wasn't fast enough through those damn corners.

Boyd, Please read what you wrote and explain to me how you get lapped, but not dropped. That is
dropped(the first person to write in and say it was a break, so he wasn't dropped is just as big a
moron, and a loser..DROPPED). Maybe if you had some better equipment you could have made the break.
Hey what about better tires for your bike for example. They could help with being faster through
those corners. Do you have tubulars are clinchers. No way you can race in the P1/2s with clinchers.
Pros ride tubulars. Get some of those and then talk equipment. Master RVD.

Ps was the guy from 7up the "up yours guy"? I think he is funny.

Oh? Do they pedal themselves through the corner? Maybe if I got a bike with an engine on it it
    might help 😉

Nope, but I'll fill in for him ....make 7 UP YOURS!!!

    For reference:

Scroll down to Zephyr Hills section.

Actually, it turns out the only guy to lap the field was John Lieswyn himself.

In case your wondering the answer to your question:

You can get lapped and not dropped if the field is spread over the whole course single file, which
it was. But like I said, I dropped out before that happened. When I quit, I could see the leaders
coming around the block ahead of me, which means they still had over half of the course to make up
before I would have gotten lapped.

Now back under the bridge with you, you dirty troll!!!

    - Boyd ... doesn't mind responding to trolls once in a while.

In another post you said: "I didn't get dropped, but I was about to get lapped by the leaders."

Now you say the leaders were still half a lap away from lapping you when you dropped out? This is
quite an obvious change of story. I think you're making it all up.

OK, I was wrong in my earlier post. That's what oxygen depravation does for me... makes you
forget details. But, honestly had I stopped gone a little slower, it wouldn't have taken long to
get lapped. BTW, thanks for calling me a liar. I used to have a lot of respect for you. Not so
    sure anymore.

Just yanking your chain. For what it's worth, I don't think I could have lasted 10 laps in my

Where was I being immature? You were the person who resorted to name calling and profanity--hardly
the traits of someone who claims to be in the midst of their adult life.
