Would it be possible to fit an airbag to a bike?, this would have to totally
enclose the rider in the event of a collision and be triggered by front rear
and side impact.

Mmmmmm, no, not with the current bike design. One will
have to add "framing" around the rider to make the air bag
effective.--

Physically I dont see why not but it would lead to a heavy cumbersome bike
and would be highly impracticle ... and Mike Vandeman would claim that it
has a detrimental effect on wildlife
