Until I dug out the Coppi road bike, tweaked up the BB, pumped up the
tyres and took off the extra bottle carriers.
Compared to my Raleigh Record Sprint winter bike, the Coppi felt much
lighter, faster and 10 times easier to pedal and my average speed
suddenly jumped up another 4 or 5 km/h.
Very nice ride, only 65kms, but they were dispatched at 29km/h average.
Meanwhile, back in the garage, the titanium Van Tuyl waits patiently 😉
Bit nippy out...
Nippy? I was at a hotel for a meeting this weekend. Woke up this
morning to 6 inches of snow. By the time we were leaving in the early
afternoon there was a foot. Instead of a coach from the door, we were
shuttled across teh golf course in Land Rovers and off road eith wheel
moor buggy things to the main road. Quite entertaining.
Less entertaining were the people who think that not clearing the foot
of snow off your car roof is a smart thing to do.
Did see one person out with a bike. Looked very snowy and was standing
by the side of the road trying to de-ice it.
It has probably abated enough that I don't need to dig out the snow
tyres (I'll check the forecast).
