I just checked the cook's illustrated site as well, and they also say
directory access denied.

I wonder if they got themselves infected with that virus that was
supposed to delete working files starting this morning?

That, or they didn't pay their renewal fee for the websites....

I got an email from them stating there was a problem with their
website and they are working to resolve it. The email said it
could be 2 or 3 days before the site would be up and running
again. All of the Cook's Illustrated site is down including
America's test kitchen, Kitchen&Cook, and Cook's Illustrated.

I'm glad to finally know something about this. It's been quite a few
days, and I tried accessing it on several computers in case something
was wrong on my end. I'd gotten used to having the site and the message
boards there at my disposal... and realize how much I miss it!
