An alternative to the hub generator?

That's kind of pointless. Probably thought up by someone who was
attempting to extract energy for free, but alas, sucking energy from
the movement through the air is no different to sucking energy from
the rotation of the wheels, both are going to slow the bike down (by
an inperceptible amount, anyway). This is just less reliable -- think
about riding along with a tailwind.

Its not a send up site, its a serious green site, I just don't think
that they are scientists engineers.

How often does the tailwind blow faster than you are riding? Not very
often, quick tip.

The simplicity of this is that there is nothing to stuff up compared
with setting up a dynamo and no batteries to go flat. Not the solution
for everyone but maybe for some.
