Found an old frame and will be building it with stuff off my hardtail. Would appreciate any tips on
component sizing, etc. I already know it won't accept rear disc brake.

You should be hearing from a Rastafarian from San Diego by the name of "Chip".
I'm a former 'mountie -- whaddya wanna know? (Every batch had different specs -- e.g. seatpost size
-- so doubt we can help you much.)
I wasn't a big fan of the owner/builder Larry (many reasons); pretty sure he's out of
business now...

Hey, I have a Catamount.
I went on a ski trip back in '96 and took a Mountain Bike magazine to read on the plane. It had a
small blurb and a picture in it about a small outfit in Colorado building Catamounts. Awhile later,
I called up Scott and Larry and ordered one. Mine is a "97 all aluminum with a Judy SL and XTR
groupo. Damn fine bike. Even today, I'm looking at the new top drawer cross-country mountian bikes
and can't find anything I like better.
I don't know how much help I'll be with your component sizing issues but i can give it a shot.
How's the rear shock? Getting a replacement rear shock can be tricky. I found these guys to be the
most helpful and easy to deal with. stratashock.comstratashock.comOpen ↗
