A well planned GPS route should avoid the crags, unless it's a
scrambling route.
Of course, any GPS route should really be tested by walking it before
putting it on the net, and appropriate corrections made in the case of
obstacles, difficult ground, overgrown vegetation etc. You really can't
just plan it on the map and assume it will be okay.
I think the best way to create such a route would be to plan it, then
walk it, then create a new route from the actual track that you walked,
using Ozi to reduce the number of points in the track to a manageable
number for a route. Or you could simply publish the track, some people
like to follow tracks rather than routes.
If it were going to be made available on the net it would need a lot
more waypoints than I usually use, to help make it idiot proof, and it
really should be walked in advance, and then of course there's the
disclaimer...
