Donovan, there was a long shot you might show up for a 21k training
run. Is that gonna happen?
Lance, how about you? Then again, I might stay home if you're gonna be
there - you might "rip me" or something, you big scary brute.

Nah, probably not. A bunch of my teammates will be showing up, but I
wimped out.
Cheers,

You mean your 20lb gut, is quivering like jelly? Yeah, I buy that.

Even though I'm busy in France, I'm taking a break and running this
marathon. See you there punk.

Just do me one favor, big daddy: dress up like the construction worker.
I'm tired of the Indian outfit and always found the cop a little
scary.
I'll be the one in the tutu and Nike ballet slippers. Number 1137 as
always.
cp, you're on your own pal, make us proud! it's tomorrow/sat right?
any special prep for this? a taper? how about diet cp....do anything
special 24-48 hours before a 1/2? you're doing the whole grand prix
series...right?

You've confused your "Lances", you are talking about Lance Andrews, I'm

Will you have that target painted on your butt cheeks again? It helped
me get a bull's eye.

Sun, 8 AM. Already dreading rolling out of bed around 5, a good four
hours earlier than I might otherwise.
As for making anyone proud: well, feel free to bask in some pride that
despite being older than I, you're a good deal faster. I hope and
expect to break 1:30 this year, but not this week.
Not knowing the course, and expecting it to really heat up during the
race (high around 90F ultimately), I'm hesitant to set a specific time
goal. Just hope to run a better race than at Queens; would compare
overall and AG places, but unfortunately I started 10 min after the gun
@ Queens so my places are way off... so maybe the comparison is to
where I would have placed @ 1:36:14.

More an abrupt mini-rest than a taper per se: no running Fri & Sat
after doubling both Wed & Thu (~10 mi each day). Plenty of walking,
may hop on the bike.
Diet: other than avoiding the notorious fish tacos down the street,
nothing too special. May aim for higher carbs as % of total than my
usual, which is probably on the low side for a 6 day/week runner; but
I'm not busting out the food scale or slide rule. Nothing too fatty or
fiberrific or overfilling the night before (and I won't be asking Paula
Radcliffe for restaurant recs); toast with jam, coffee with sugar and
soy creamer, and Accelerade the morning of. Will bring Endurox (with
ice, in Polar bottle) for post-race.

That's right, though I wouldn't anticipate doing it again. For one
thing I'd like to return to Utica for the Boilermaker, which has been
the same day as Bronx 1/2 in 04-05 at least.
