I've got a Kraken SE (which I guess is a slightly higher spec version) and I'm really happy with it
although I'm beginning to think I should have bought a smaller frame but that's another story (and
another thread on this group).

I've actually just sat down after a 12 mile XC run and really enjoyed it, even cleaned the bike
properly afterwards! I'm no expert but I'd say you've got a bike that will get you started in MTBing
and keep you happy for a good while. Sure, you can get better bikes and maybe one day you'll move on
(as I'm planning to soon - to perhaps another Carrera, the LRS2) but, in the mean-time, enjoy.

Finally, the wife has a new Carerra Banshee which is quite a similar spec to the Kraken but is a
full sus bike. For the money (she's not quite as serious about riding as I am) it's not a bad
bike either.

I bought a carrera Fury... i really treated it badly (im the worst cyclist).. ran into walls (really hard)., fell over seriously loads of times... and the bike is immaculate. Nothing happened. The tire frame is strong. The brakes are good.

I dont understand why people are knocking down this make. I never thought my bike would have lasted after the first week with me, and it has.

OK - I'll explain. OK! The brakes are good!! But why i keep on riding into walls and falling over is because i just learnt how to ride a bike. It was my first bike - EVER. I taught myself. Actually, i went to halfords, bought a SARACEN .. but changed it. Its not as sturdy as the Carrera.

I dont know why i never learned as a kid, but, any case, i ride pretty well now. I m still looking for someone to show me how to stand up whilst pedalling (for going up hills)??
