Yeah, that's probably what saved me from bonking. To Sorrento I was
pushing quite hard, I hovered around 160 for the first three hours. Our
game plan was to work hard to get to an early ferry and play it by ear
once we got to the other side.
On the other side the morning's effort, it was 08:30! It was still the
freaking monring! Um, the pre-ferry effort and gastro caught up with
Vlad. When you've got gastro there's not a lot you can do. The end
result was I cycled well myself averaging below 140.

Hmm, ten hours in total including ferry ride so maybe eight liters was
about right?

I used a Camelback, the only time we stopped was the ferry and a rest
stop halfway round. Two hundred meters after that I got my second
puncture of the say :-p
