I read that he gained 60 pounds in "fluid retension" while he was in the hopsital. Maybe one of our
medical people can field this, but I find it really hard to believe that someone can gain 60 pounds
in fluid retension. Mind you, I'm no medical expert.
Hmm, maybe that's what I'll tell MIL though. I'm not overweight, I'm just retaining 60
pounds of fluid.

Yes, I did hear on the news & read in the paper this morning what you said. Yesterday, they were
bothering to tell that part of the story. :-( Typical media!

Well, to be fair, it is now reported that his heart condition was caused by a virus.
When he slipped and fell on the ice, he went into the hospital weighing 195 lbs., and gained 60
lbs. from complications that caused him to retain fluids like crazy, then he died.
You won't hear me selling anyone on Atkins. It wasn't right for me, although I know plenty of
people who did very well on it. But regardless of my stance on Atkins, I can't stand by while
incomplete and misleading information is spread about.
