Yes. People do Audaxes on MTBs. Whatever is comfortable and won't fall apart
over the first pot hole. A Galaxy could be made for the job.

Absolutely, I would say. When Jon and I did the Coldingham audax the
variety of bikes was remarkable, and people on cheap hybrids did a lot
better than I did. The really experienced audaxers seemed mainly to be
on classic tourers (apart from one couple on an *amazing* superlight
tandem).

A Galaxy would fit in fine.

Distance cycle rides which in theory aren't competitive but which are

On most Audaxs it's probably the single most common bike in fact.

That's the joy of the events. I use a race bike, the next to me uses
a Galaxy. All are happy.

Galaxy, a Ridgeback Adventure (chrome moly frame), a Carrerra Kraken MTB,
eight asstd bikes for my three kids, a Honda CB500 motor bike squeezed into
the space left in the garge from my stationary engine collection. Apart
from permission from my personal Ayatollah-ress, I also have stotrage
problems.

I have no aspirations to reproduce again, I just want to retain the ability
to do so. :-)

Maybe the mother of your children is unaware of the contents of your
garage? Or she's just more understanding than most?

I have two and one. I'd like one more of each. Not sure if the wife is
willing on either front at the moment...
