  1. I'm watching this now, what a great show.

A few of you may have already seen this. It was aired last week locally
in Seattle and features Scott Jurek, Ferg Hawke, and Mike Sweeney's
    battle
for first place at Badwater. It's an excellent portrayal of the
    struggles
they endure and overcome. There is also spectacular scenery in it.

You have to register on the site to view the videos, but just check
the "no spam" box and hope you don't get any. Trust me...it's worth the
view. It's about 15 minutes long, so wait till lunch hour at work. 🙂

Thanks Doug, I'll check it out.

Have you seen Running on the Sun? I've got the DVD. Even some of my
non-running friends and family with whom I've learned not to use the R
word lest they cringe, loved this because of the great human stories
    and personalities.

I firend of mine from Long Island was the one on the DVD that yells out
in the middle of night, "where's my *uckin" soup" to his crew. He was
spaced out by then not realizing that soup was a lot of miles in the
next town and they had only left a minute before.

I have no desire to do this race but I can apprectiate the effort.

Did you get to see their butts Doug? Did you watch it "one handed"?
    Rhetorical of course.

Why does that not surprise me? ;-)

Nick, right? You can tell him half the Pendejo clan would say "Geb
who? Shorter? Rogers? Bannister? Which one of those guys goes by
the first name 'Nick'? That dude's a *uckin _runner_ - damn!"

Yes, Nick P, the crazy Italian. We run alot of races to together and I
mean side by side. He drives up from "Lung" island in the early summer
to train with me for the Vermont 100.

He is one tough ass runner. I have seen him during a race where most
would prefer to be shot and he just keeps on chugging.
