Baja Fresh

Baja Fresh is somewhat similar to Chipotle's.... they're backed by Wendy's now, IIRC, so I don't
know how their quality is anymore....

The dining area is standing room only and long lines when they are open. They do not have freezers
(hence all their food is fresh). It's Mexican/Baja style foods. Burritos and the like. Very fresh,
great salsa and the grilled scallions are better than breath mints.

IMO, they far surpass Taco Bell and pretty much most other of the fast food "Mexican" places. My
husband would debate me on their comparison to Chipotle, which I think serves overspiced and
oversalted food...but I still say Baja Fresh is better than them as well. They serve all fresh,
never frozen Baja style food...meaning tacos and burritos and such. The difference is, the freshness
and flavor. Nothing is oversalted, or overseasoned. They make things like the guacamole in small
batches, so it's fresh when you get it. You can see them preparing your food, which to me is a plus.
They use only fresh ingredients. The Baja salsa is out of this world, and my husband loves the
Cebollitas, which are fire roasted green onions. The steak and chicken is charbroiled, and very
flavorful. The burritos are huge, too big for me, but very tasty. And they have alot of options for
people with dietary restrictions; i.e., high protein, low carb, etc. I don't work for them, or
anything like that. I just like that I have an option where I can go get good, flavorful food, with
ingredients that I can actually identify.

It's Wendy's (as Chipotle is McDonald's), but the food is of pretty good quality, and I wouldn't
hesitate to eat there when I'm in the same neighbourhood.

Okay, I stopped by and got a Baja Burrito (chicken) yesterday. Not bad. I'll definitely go back.

We have a Baja Fresh down the street, and I have bought some stuff there. It was OK but not
very special, IMO. I had better fish tacos-- and more interesting salsas-- at another chain
called La Salsa.

But we live in an area with a lot of very good small Mexican places. It's a tough crowd out here.
