Laetrile is one of the most extensively studied and tried
alternative cancer treatments, but it has not even been able
to sustain a secure place for itself within alternative
medicine. Few clinics recommend it and those that do use it
admit that it doesn't work by itself, in line with current
trends within AM to use multiple treatments at once (which
still don't work, but that doesn't seem to matter to any but
the poor patient).

Mark, thanks for this. Since Jan is in my killfile, I didn't
know she was up to her usual tricks.
Note that she excised the URL I posted, although I'd left
the one to which I was responding intact.
I let people see both URLs. Jan must be afraid to do this.

Quoted message said:, but it has not even been able to sustain a secure place

In other words, the alternative medical community hasn't
generally accepted laetrile because it doesn't come from
organized medicine? That doesn't make any sense unless you
assume that alternative medicine uses the same standards as
"organized" conventional medicine. And that assumption isn't
consistent with what you, in common with most supporters of
alternative medicine, assert.
Peter is asserting that the use of laetrile for cancer is
not widely accepted among proponents of alternative
medicine, specifically among proponents of alternative
cancer treatments. In other words, the notion that it's an
effective treatment for cancer is a fringe notion even among
those who oppose "EOM". To use an analogy, a *very* tiny
percentage of evangelical Christians subscribe to "Identity"
doctrines that hold that black people, Jews, etc. are pre-
Adamic "mud people" who aren't truly part of God's creation.
The *vast* majority of Christians, even extremely
conservative evangelical Christians, firmly reject such
doctrines. It would be completely wrong to say that
"Christian Identity" is a typical evangelical Christian
belief, in the *exact same sense* that it would be
completely wrong to say that proponents of alternative
cancer treatments typically accept laetrile as a treatment.
Not only is it out of the mainstream, it's out of the out-of-the-
mainstream.

Almost zero blood count?? Would you care to rephrase that.
IN any case your friend must be correct that his
current good health is due to apricot kernels, vitamin
C and antioxidants. There is no other explanation. Feel
better Bew??

Hypocritical to be skeptical of an anonymous unverifiable
internet claim while applauding chemo which may be known to
help certain cancers?? OK Bew, whatever you say.
Btw, I really appreciate how you discuss topics without
resorting to gratuitous insults. You are a breath of

This is one reason why kill filing may not be such a
good idea.
Another one of Jan's tricks is to respond to your post,
change what you said making it appear that you said
something that you did not. And she could do this with
impunity if you kill file her.
