how did you fix the camera to the bike? Was it a video camera or
digital photo-camera? On a recent ski trip we did all our filming with
the tiny Fuji FinePix Z2 - the results were great and the camera was
very handy to use because of it's small size.

Just a thought, but you could have remounted your speedo to the
crossbar on the descent so the read-out was in shot...

There was a very puffed commentary. But syncing the sound and the video
(without it dragging too much) would have taken too much effort for
this bear of little patience. The steepest parts are about 1 in 8 so
yes it was very puffed..

Cable tied to the handlebars (with a bit of pipe lagging to reduce
vibrations) for the front shot, or on a tripod and bungeed/cable tied
to the handlebars/rear rack.

Unfortunately the speedo doesn't work. I nearly overcooked it on the
descent - the grip on the road a bit further up (before the last lamp
post) is much better than after as there is a lot of grit/dust, so I
had to really control the brakes - the rear was on the point of
sliding. Probably about 35mph at the point I started to brake, maybe a
few mph faster.

My favourite scene was the very end of the climb, as you cycled into
the distance, the bird that flew past timed his run to perfection.

It occurs to me that we need bikes that change like Transformers, so
that on cresting a hill you press a button and your bike morphs into a
low racer recumbent ready for the descent. Same principle as the Fiery
Phoenix from Battle of the Planets (giving away my age there).

Choice of music was groovy too, I hadn't heard that Elvis track
before. I don't think, however, that you're really allowed to use the
brakes when cycling to Ride of the Valkyries. It's just not the done
thing, old boy.

close to the top.

It is easier at night when you can see the lights of the cars coming.
The road is just wide enough for two cars to pass, and I was using most
of it. The driver I passed was a bit surprised as when he first saw me
I was right over on his side of the road.

It is 1 in 8 at that point so a bit of feathering the brakes might be
considered OK.
