Perhaps that's just a misconception on their part thinking that they can rid
their bodies of food via the use of laxiatives....some reading on the net
indicates that laxatives aren't effective for fat loss.
bulimics aren't necessarily concerned with "effective fat loss."
they're concerned with *weight* loss, and i don't think it matters much
whether it's fat or healthy muscle. you're trying to apply logic to an
eating disorder - they don't really work that way.

from the behavor of bulimics about the effective use of laxatives doesn't
seem so smart.
i never said that i personally thought it was effective or smart. i
said that people do it. it's a fact. i'm not making any judgements or
arguments as to the wisdom or effectiveness of it.

there are all kinds of ways to purge, including over-exercising. read
up.
