Seeking advice on my next cylce computer, and am vacilating between the new Cateye cdc-cdw300 double wireless and the Mavic wintech one that has a slick front fork assembly.
Any opinions would be much appreciated. From what I can find on the web, very few reviews of the Cateye. I like the fact the sensor is on the rear wheel so it would work great on the indoor trainer. The Mavic seems it would win from a rock solid sensor attachment. It also seems to have a great display and easy to read whereas the Cateye might almost have too much info. If Mavic was rear wheel, I'd be there already!
Anyone out there use either of these?
I am primarily interested in getting it for cadence to improve my rides.
I just started using the CatEye CD300DW and absolutely love it!!! It installs easily and quickly. All of your ride information can be viewed from one screen without having to scroll and switch between different screens. The mount bracket is wonderful!!! My favorite feature is the way arrows will show to let you know if you are above, below, or equal to your pace on speed and cadence. I was debating between the Mavic unit and the Cateye. To me, the Mavic does not show enough info on the screen to have a screen as large as it does.
I have the Wintech and really like the integrated Skewer...
I've always wondered whether the magnet and skewer would work on the rear wheel?? If I wasn't so lazy I'd try it...I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work...like you say, it would be great for the Trainer...
And yes, it's easy to use and does have a large display..I only wish it was backlit for early morning and evening rides...

It wouldn't work because of the size of the skewer. It is made for the front wheel. A rear skewer is longer than a front because of hub spacing. A rear hub is wider due to the gear cluster.
