doesn't show any more skill and it just gets rediculously dangerous.
I would disagree, it actualy does take more skill to do larger stair
sets. After about a 6 set you actualy have to start throwing your body
forward and learning to do a longer jump. I can rolling hop 6 sets
without even trying to jump forward but at about 8 if I don't get my
form right and I don't actualy jump forward enough I will end up
clipping the last stair. I am also using 110mm cranks which should give
me an advantage jumping stairs (more speed) and I don't weigh much
meaning I shouldn't fall as fast, yet if I don't get good form on some
8 sets I won't make it. Also in landing you have to be able to land
well so that you don't hurt yourself or stop dead (which tends to hurt
aswell). When I started jumping more than a 5 (actualy the 7 set was my
worst injury) I was really hurting my archs. I would slam down on my
feet so hard that it would actualy bruise the foot. Now I have learned
to land in a way that I can pedal out properly and my feet really don't
take much abuse at all. Actualy now that I think about it the landing
thing isn't really that big a difference between drops and stairs but
the distance part is as the longer you are in the air the faster you
fall meaning on bigger stair sets you will end up falling faster by the
end of it.
This is why I'm afraid to try ten sets before doing a 9 (which seem
really hard to find for some reason), I don't mind clipping one step
but the second I clip two it really throws me off and I could see it
getting rather ugly.
