Come to find out the guy no longer wishes to sell his machine. It was a HELL of a deal....

He wanted to sell all of this for $1000. :eek: I know it may have been slightly too large for me but damn I couldn't pass it up. He's my buddy in tough times, I told him to sleep on the idea. I told him he's nuts for wanting to sell it so cheap, worth around $3000+ new, granted it's used but in excellent condition. I'm happy to report he slept on the idea and is no longer selling his machine. I'm glad to hear someone does not have to part w/ their bike.

Now I have to go sweat talk my Trek :o ....ask her if she'll still have me. She will probably punish me with a blow-out or flat on our next quest.

I went from an Alum OCR to a TCR C1. It is a big difference BUT i still also ride my OCR once in a while. It's just a different ride.
I bought a 2007 TCR C1 frameset on ebay for about $500 bucks, mint condition, then bought parts: full Ultegra, Neuvation wheelset, compact crankset (R700), carbon seatpost, bars and stem, basically a new bike for about $1,600 so $1,000 for your friend's bike was a great price.

Depends on the way you were lookin at specs of another bike. If you were just checking it out then fair enough but what you said sounds like obsession to me. Its ok though if you dont try the same sort of thing with your women, that can be lethal!
