So I found a good deal on another road bike. Does it make me strange to be sitting here looking over the specs for this "other bike" while my one true bike is across the room staring at me? I feel like I'm cheating, have I gotten into this cycling stuff too deep? I feel like I need to get up and walk over and talk to her, "I'm sorry, we'll go for another ride tomorrow, you'll see it will be fine."

Hey, there's no harm in looking . . . . at least that's what I tell my wife.

Come to find out the guy no longer wishes to sell his machine. It was a HELL of a deal....
2005 Giant TCR C3, Large frame.
*Dura ACE throughout, 10spd, chain, levers, etc.
*Keo carbon pedals and cleats.
*Cateye computer w/ cadence.
*Easton Orion II rims
*New Armadillo tires
*Fizik Arione Carbon SaddleHe wanted to sell all of this for $1000. I know it may have been slightly too large for me but damn I couldn't pass it up. He's my buddy in tough times, I told him to sleep on the idea. I told him he's nuts for wanting to sell it so cheap, worth around $3000+ new, granted it's used but in excellent condition. I'm happy to report he slept on the idea and is no longer selling his machine. I'm glad to hear someone does not have to part w/ their bike.
Now I have to go sweat talk my Trek :o ....ask her if she'll still have me. She will probably punish me with a blow-out or flat on our next quest.

I bought a 2007 TCR C1 frameset on ebay for about $500 bucks, mint condition, then bought parts: full Ultegra, Neuvation wheelset, compact crankset (R700), carbon seatpost, bars and stem, basically a new bike for about $1,600 so $1,000 for your friend's bike was a great price. -

Depends on the way you were lookin at specs of another bike. If you were just checking it out then fair enough but what you said sounds like obsession to me. Its ok though if you dont try the same sort of thing with your women, that can be lethal!
