Let me guess, you are really not that stupid and are only asking this dumb question because you want to overcome other inadequacies in your life by telling the world you can afford an expensive car.

If you seriously are unsure, Yes it will, but to get it in you will need to remove the front wheel and most probably loosen the handle bars as the clearance gap on German saloons is poor from my experiences with them. You may even be able to take off the front wheel and chuck the bike on the back seat.

Only if you remove the steering wheel and then put your foot down on the
accelerator very hard, preferably with a sturdy brick wall in the way.

BMW dealers won't sell an E34. Let alone take kindly to me turning up in my
£100 Volvo and asking if I can try fitting my muddy bike in the back of one
of them. Of course I know that all mountain bikes *aren't* the same size,
but I'm not always going to have the same bike, and don't want to have to
shop around for a bike that'll fit in my car, rather than a good bike. I
want to know if there's plenty of room or not.

An E34 BMW costs, ooh, the thick end of £500, which isn't particularly
expensive for car, IMO. That's probably cheaper than a good number of bikes
owned by people on this NG. I don't start bizarre rants at people who've
just bought a nice new recumbent or whatever...

The E34 BMW 5 series is hardly expensive these days, that's the late
80s/early 90s model :-)

Wheels on or wheels off? It's usually easy to pop the wheels off, and
that makes a much more compact unit. Or consider an Airnimal (I know,
not really a mountain bike, although the mountain bike version appears
competent) where the rear triangle swings down to tuck under the
downtube.
