Bike repair kit

Spare tube Tire patch kit Tire pump Tire levers (if not part of multitool) 1st aid kit
Multitool(s) Chain tool (if not part of multitool) Duct tape (wrapped around a small dowel) --
it's amazing what duct tape'll fix in an emergency 🙂 Chain quick-link (much easier than repairing
the chain on the trail)

CO2 only lasts as long as you have cylinders -- so, if you go CO2, get one with a combined pump or
get a pump also. More than one thorn per ride is not uncommon around here.

Make sure that the multitools(s) cover your bike (have the correct hex sizes and the ones that need
to be long, are; and has wrenches if you have nuts). If you need just one long (or short) hex, you
can just add it to your kit along with the multitool.

I wound up wearing out a cheap chain tool , Once on my bike on the trail and about 5 times
repairing other chains on 'newbies' who were in the middle of nowhere and miles from their
vehicles with no tools whatsoever. I wound up replacing the cheapie with a Park mini Brute , which
has seen little use . Ah , the joys of teaching newbies !

I also carry a Missinglink (i.e. Powerlink) with me. Fits nicely at the bottom of my Topeak
Alien pouch.
