Ever since i changed my rear cassett (from junior gearings to normal ones), while in the largest 3 sprokets, i have had a strange twitch in the pedel stroke. The allignment on the rear derailleur seems to be correct. This is not a creaking sound. all my gears shift very fluidly and the bottom bracket is properly adjusted. this twitch is just very irritating and distracting . i did not experiance any such thing with the old (junior)cassett. Any ideas on what it is and how to fix it?

Are all the spacers in the correct position?
Are all the cogs properly oriented?
Is the cassette lock-ring properly torqued? -

In addition to the suggests made by daveornee check your chain for excessive wear or a bad or stiff link.

I agree with the others. You do not say which chainrings you are in. Does this only happen in the largest chain ring? What about overall chain size? The bigger cassette cogs may require that you use a longer chain. Adjustments and all being good, I'd replace the chain. And the spacing may be slightly different on the new cassette. I'd try turning the rear derailler barrel adjuster a little to see if this fixes it. If not I would go through the rear derailler adjustment process as described in Park tools tech manual or on the Campagnolo website.

it happens in both chainrings (the larger one being a 52 not a 53 which could be part of the issue come to think of it). those are very good ideas from everyone.

If it's happening when you are in the small chainring it's probably not a chain length problem.
