I have a specialized sequoia expert...but the elite is close to it.

Quite a number of Specialized's offerings fit that spec. I imagine a lot
of them have moved up to Ultegra or better by now, but the lower-middle
models can still be had with 105.

Take a look at the Felt bikes, I think F60 or 65, might be the one.

"*sigh* The Cannondale Cyclocross doesn't have _nearly_ as much 105 on it
as it did in years past, sorry. (Happily, mine is a '98, and pretty 105'ed
out, aside from the Deore XT bits I had the LBS put on the back. 🙂

Thanks for all of your helpful advice. I went with the Spec. Allez 27
because it seemed to fit me better.

That's a nice choice. Be warned, though, that the stock Alex wheels
aren't very strong. It's important for you to "lighten" yourself (get
your weight off the saddle and use your bent legs and arms as shock
absorbers) when you go over bumpy sections of road, and to take it slow
and easy at railroad crossings or especially rough sections of road.
