UEA's where I work! You're right - there are some awful standards of
driving round there; the whole Earlham Road / Fiveways / UEA area is
dreadful for driving or cycling - the infrastructure just can't cope with
the volume of traffic. Add a few impatient / d!ckhead cagers & it's a
recipe for disaster. For once the sh*red use paths are a much better idea
than trying to ride on the roads. No idea why motorists burn reds round
there anyway - just gets them to the next traffic lights (or more likely
traffic jam) that bit quicker :-(
Don't shout too loud about the lousy motorists, though. Every day around
campus & nearby I see People On Bikes (not Proper Cyclists) doing the
daftest things & narrowly avoiding death. However, a pleasingly high
amount of Proper Cyclists in hi-viz & reflective gear (& with half-decent
lights) over the last few weeks.
Out of interest (and if it's not personal or whatever) what do you do for
UEA?
