BMC TMR02 vs BMC SLR01

You're flying at high altitude here, Rick. As a group, not too many of us are on brand-new BMCs; we tend to hang on to what we're riding and then fuss about shoes, saddles, and giving advice to newbies trying to decide between a Domane 4 and a Roubaix Comp. Which is always ride the one that fits you better.

FWIW. Aerodynamic frame tubing & components are not new ...

• look at the multitude of past attempts which have fallen by the wayside ... attempts == collector's items
  
• collector's items == failed novelty in the market place failure in the market place is often due to excessive cost
  
• or to an efficient design (e.g., Campagnolo DELTA brake calipers)
  

Exclusive of oldbobcat's observation that most riders continue to use one or two frames which they may have had for years, I think that YOU need to decide what level of competitive triathlete you feel that you are ...

1. beginner
   
2. intermediate
   
3. elite
   
4. professional
   
5. __ other __ [LIST] e.g., a guy with deep pockets who prefers "nicer" components ... nothing wrong with THAT!
   
   

Because if you are an intermediate or elite (say a consistent top 25-to-10 finisher out of a field of 100-or-more), then you may benefit from a "Timemachine" ...

Beginner OR other ... go with the Road bike ...

Professional ... someone else should be paying for your bike.

Without knowing how you would classify yourself as a rider, between the two choices, I would suggest that your choice leans toward the SLR01 Road bike OR wait until you are a consistent finisher in the upper 25% (or better!!) of competitors in your classification.

Thanks folks, sorry for my rudeness but i was a bit frustrated that no one posted anything. As for my "rank", i consider myself a pretty good athlete, just a couple of months ago i finished in the top ten at the Italian nationals and we were just a bit over 80 athletes. I might also ask my bike shop for some info. Thanks!
