Voigt-Julich devant Le duo germano-américain de CSC, composé de Jens Voigt et Bobby Julich, a volé la vedette samedi au sextuple vainqueur du Tour de France, l'Américain Lance Armstrong, lors du contre-la-montre par équipes de deux, disputé à Buehl. Le duo de l'équipe danoise a parcouru les 82,2 km (6 tours à 13,7 km) en 1 heure et 36 minutes 51 secondes et 20 centièmes devant plus de 120 000 spectateurs, sous un soleil de plomb. Six jours après sa victoire du Tour de France, l'Américain Lance Armstrong, associé à son compatriote George Hincapie, l'un de ses coéquipiers au sein de l'US Postal, a terminé à la quatrième place, plus de trois minutes et demie après les premiers. «C'est naturellement super. Mais je peux imaginer que Lance n'ait pas couru ici à 100 %», a déclaré l'Allemand Jens Voigt. Lance Amstrong, qui avait disputé la veille une course à Prague, avait atterri quelques heures avant le départ à Buehl. Décontracté, le Texan s'était laissé interrogé sur ses projets : «Je crois que je n'en ai pas fini avec le Tour de France», avait-il dit. Il a reconnu qu'il vieillissait, mais qu'il espérait pouvoir garder son niveau. Deux duos allemands de l'équipe Gerolsteiner, Uwe Peschel-Michael Rich et Markus Fothen-Sebastian Lang, ont terminé deuxième et troisième de la course. Le classement : 1. Le duo de l'équipe danoise a parcouru les 82,2 km (6 tours à 13,7 km)

How typical of Julich to actually race an event that nobody else is
actually trying to win. Somehow he'll try and convince some loser DS
somewhere that he's not washed up and deserves a contract. Nice work.

What are you talking about? These ITT events are very prestigious to win and
are great showcase events. Every hear the phrase "the race of truth"?
