Hello All,
The walk I did yesterday is pretty typical of what I do. The Berkshire Downs, Lambourn - Wayland's
Smithy - Uffington Castle - Lambourn, about 25 km in all. It was raining and very wet underfoot
and after walking through grass, mud, chalk slurry, et cetera for about an hour my boots started
to let in water.
So, I need some new boots. These need to be light, comfortable, robust and *waterproof*. I bought my
old Coleman boots cheap a couple of years ago without really knowing what I wanted, but luck favours
the naive and these have turned out to be very comfortable and kind on the feet, but they leak.
Could I ask the group for recommendations about a pair of boots that would meet my needs?
By the way, after reading about them in this place I bought a pair of Gore-Tex gaiters and wore them
yesterday. They performed incredibly well; I'm impressed.
Regards, Nick.
