  1. I'm not sure what BR we are up to and I can't be arsed checking previous
    posts.

So how many a.b. posters are going to be in C grade tomorrow?? Lindsay and
I are definately going to have a crack........I am keen to get the a.b. team
over the line in first and I am happy to be a leadout for whoever is keen to
    grab onto my wheel.

C'mon Dutch....you are the master tactician.........what are the team
    orders???

Send Lindsay off the front for an early breakaway, while the rest of the a.b mob control the pace from the front?

Sounds like fun.. I'll keep an eye on any breakaways and yell time
differences from the sideline.. ITT on the bulie next Sunday is where my
sights are set at the moment..

I think there are a few of us meeting at Donny at 7:20am then making our way
down Blackburn Rd to watch these crits.. BR 44a.. with BR44b being Monday...

offtopic: To reference another thread on LBS dramas... Went into Mascot
today and got some new shoes from my MTB (well, road shoes that I can throw
on SPD).. Ray made my day.. awesome price on some Diadora pimped out kickers
and I also got myself some of these winter sock things that look like feet
savers on freezing/rainy days.. he even threw in a HCC/Mascot hat! woot!

    cheers,
    GPL

I'd like to vote against that one personally.. :P

    How about:
    No one breaks away.
Anyone else who breaks away gets chased down by you guys.
It all comes down to bunch sprint.
    I don't stuff it up.
    I win. 🙂

Hey Gags, how strong are you and Lindsay? Have you guys raced C there
before? She sounds pretty strong judging by your reports..

    I have only raced D grade at Kew on 4 occasions (3rd, 7th, 2nd, 1st). I am
not sure how I will go up in C grade and I have never really done any
sprinting on a flat road (only up the home straight at Kew). Having said
that, I generally go OK on the flats and I am hoping that I will be able to
manage to hang on for the hour. My mtb commute is basically 50min or so and
I generally treat that like a time trial so hopefully I will have enough to
    last the distance.

I haven't really seen Lindsay going flat out as yet (except on the mtb) but
I do know that she has had some pretty reasonable results for time trials in
NSW a couple of years ago. I guess we will have to wait and see on the day.

As I said earlier, I would be more than happy if any of our "team a.b." got
up for the win. I don't really rate myself as a specialist sprinter but I
might go alright as a lead out for you and Dutchy. We will all have to get
together in the morning and work something out.

    RAFLMAO .bwahahahahahahah

let's see. approx 12-15 crits for one measely win.
last week was the only time ANYTHING came together for me
(reference to breakaway midrace, not win 🙄 ).
Not to mention the fact that tactics is a VERY new concept to me.
Carl was confusin the [censored] outta me as we after the race explainin what him and compradres had been setting up for Wayne and Co. 😕 😕 😕

    What's Lindz like at ITT'ing?
From what I ahe seen of the gals in C (inc my cuzz Mel) they sit in the bunch and seem to finish somewhere in the middle/front half of the guys.
Have only noticed 3-4 in the last few weeks

The idea of tryin to stay out front of a bunch alone, even half organised scares me as my TT'ing is laughable. I tried a spurt a couple of weeks ago, got a huge gap in only 2 (the first 2 after straight) corners, and halfway along the back straight realised how stupidly overcommitted i was (hoping 2-3 might come with me, but nobody was paying close enough attention for that!) and how far/long there was to go so eased up and hid away again. Aint tryin that alone again.

"Team orders"? "what 'he' said" 🙄

chase anything down, protect Hip in the last few laps and get him to the front 5-6 for the last 2 corners and if possible drag him to line and fight urge to take win (wooops, freudian slip 🙄 ) by easing off and letting him pass (not that he wouldnt anyway 😄 )

All this tactix stuff is wonderful on a keyboard but the overwhelming feeling i have at the mo is dread! Im in for a butt-kickin tomorrow and I know it!
Im goin into it treating it as if the race is only 40mins long, thus chasein anything worthwhile and holding on beyond that time will be a bonus.

Only question I have is how long before the Jazmo makes a break for glory? After stewing over last week's race ALL week, he's gonna be itchy !!!
(and shock horror, SOBER!!! )

PS to LAMA... yellin out any splits would be great but even more so, yellin out if anyone is up the road!

    This should be a hoot......albeit a painful one....hehehe

I am keen to see Jazmo in a sprint....I have only seen him on the Bianchi
once on a BR and although he flew up the hills, there weren't any sprints to
speak of. I just hope that he and Linsay don't decide to TT the last half
of the race together or something.....that might hurt a bit too much!!!

I hope one of the BR spectators brings a camera and we can provide him with
an a.b victory shot (maybe Dutch with his arms in the air as Hippy sneaks by
    him for the win??)

Anyways....time to get some zeds before the morning.......can't wait.

    Ride On,

    Gags
